Honey & Co to reopen in Bloomsbury

Middle Eastern restaurant Honey & Co has found a new site in London's Bloomsbury after being forced to close its original Warren Street venue after 10 years.

Itamar Srulovich and Sarit Packer have secured the former Cigala site at 54 Lamb's Conduit Street and are due to reopen the concept at its new home this spring. The chef couple were not offered the option to renew their lease on their Warren Street site, which will close next month.

Srulovich said: "We will be stretching our wings and moving more than a street away – very unusual for us! But we're really excited to join the Bloomsbury community.

"The street feels just right for us. Honestly, being surrounded by all our favourite places to eat and shop is a dream come true. Not great for our bank balance, but good for our souls."

Familiar dishes served at the original site will appear on the menu, including falafel, slow-cooked lamb, barbecue tahini aubergine and feta and honey cheesecake.

Packer said: "We're bringing everything we can with us: our staff, our famous tiles, our signature dishes; plus everything we've learned over the last 10 years. We're adding more space, wine by Keeling Andrew & Co, the wine company from the guys behind Noble Rot, our new neighbours, better extraction – which our team are very excited about – and we might even put tablecloths on this time."

The couple opened Honey & Co in 2012, Honey & Smoke on Great Portland Street followed in 2016, along with deli Honey & Spice also on Warren Street, all within walking distance of each other.
