Tessa Gorman appointed managing director of Rosewood London
Tessa Gorman has been appointed managing director of Rosewood London, replacing Michael Bonsor, who will move on to lead the brand's new Chancery Rosewood hotel.
Gorman will assume the role on 1 January 2024, having previously held roles within Aman, Bvlgari and Cheval-Blanc, among others. Most recently she held the position of general manager at One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro.
She said: "I am thrilled to be joining the Rosewood family, a brand I have long admired, as managing director of Rosewood London. I am incredibly proud to be a part of this beautiful historic property, which has become an integral part of London life.
"After 17 years, I am returning to my home city, with its timeless blend of history and modernity and vibrant energy; and I look forward to joining the team as we continue to ignite the spirit of the destination into its next decade."
Victor Clavell, senior vice-president of operations, EMEAC, added: "It is a pleasure to welcome Tessa to the Rosewood family and to continue the success of Rosewood London in the UK. Tessa brings with her robust experience in luxury hospitality, and we're confident she will be a great asset to the team."
Bonsor had spent 10 years at Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, having joined the five-red-AA-star Rosewood London hotel as hotel manager in 2013. He was promoted to managing director of the Holborn property in 2017, the same year it won the Catey award for Hotel of the Year – Group.
He will now transfer to the Chancery Rosewood hotel ahead of its opening in London's Mayfair in 2025. The 144-room hotel is being developed in the Grade II-listed building that housed the US Embassy until 2017.
