Tinie Tempah's fried chicken brand RAPS debuts in London
British rapper Tinie Tempah has launched fried chicken brand RAPS with a four-month residency at the John Lewis rooftop bar on Oxford Street Willows on the Roof.
RAPS will be also available to customers in neighbourhoods across London via Deliveroo. The brand has partnered with dark kitchen network Kitchen Ventures to support the launch of RAPS which is a "nostalgic nod" to Tempah's memory of the chicken shops he frequented when growing up in South East London.
The menu has been developed by Tempah and chef Hasan Semay – known to his social media follows as Big Has – and consists of chicken wraps (or ‘raps') which include the ‘Unruly', featuring deep-fried jerk marinated corn-fed chicken, plantain, jerk BBQ sauce and lime mayo slaw.
Other dishes include the ‘African Giant' – buttermilk fried chicken, jollof salsa, plantain, lettuce, tomato and mayo – and the ‘Buffalo Soulja' – buttermilk fried chicken, buffalo sauce, blue cheese, house pickles, lettuce and tomato. The menu will also offer buttermilk brinded chicken tenders and ‘Peng Wings'.
