Tim Hortons to open 40 more restaurants in 2023
Canadian QSR brand Tim Hortons has doubled its drive-thru estate across the UK over the past year and has plans to open 40 more restaurants in 2023.
It comes as the restaurant group announced that it will be opening its 50th drive-thru restaurant in Watford on 28 November, as well as a four more drive-thrus before the end of the year.
Tim Hortons currently has 65 sites in the UK and the group has confirmed further openings in Liverpool, Swansea and Dundee for Q1 of 2023.
The American QSR market has been particularly bullish in the UK market, especially in regard to securing drive-thru sites.
Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer of Tim Hortons franchise in the UK, said: "We have planned our site acquisition strategy carefully to ensure that we are securing as many drive-thru sites as we can in order to meet the growing customer demand for the additional convenience that they provide. We only see this demand growing, with people being time poor and seeking high quality, great value food and beverages at all times of day served at speed."
Tim Hortons was founded in Canada in 1964 and now has more than 4,700 system wide restaurants across the world. It launched its first UK site in Glasgow in 2017.
