Sandpiper terminates purchase of Randalls of Guernsey

SandpiperCI Group has terminated its acquisition of the Guernsey Pub Company, which owns Randalls of Guernsey, due to the impact of coronavirus.

Sandpiper owns 81 stores across Guernsey, Jersey, Gibraltar and Spain, including Costa Coffee and Burger King outlets.

In an update, it said that due to the effects of Covid-19 and future uncertainty, it had been unable to fulfil the final conditions to place shares to the official list on the International Stock Exchange, which was the remaining condition to the sale.

Randalls' portfolio includes the Rockmount restaurant (pictured), the Prince of Wales bar and restaurant, the Imperial hotel, Slaughterhouse bar and eatery and La Reunion restaurant, all in Guernsey.
