Samira Effa joins supplier Truefoods as senior production chef
Samira Effa has joined culinary supplier Truefoods as senior production chef after stepping away from her head chef role at Simon Gueller's the Box Tree in Ilkley.
The chef (pictured with fellow contestants Mike Carr and Tom Anglesea), recently appeared on Great British Menu, and will serve both on the production side and in the supplier's public-facing restaurant, ChefsTable.
Effa joined Gueller's brigade as head chef from Alimentum, Cambridge, after the formerly one-Michelin-starred site, previously operated by Mark Poynton, was closed by its investors. She left five months later, with Gueller citing "professional differences".
A Truefoods spokesman said: "Truefoods is delighted to announce that Samira Effa, most recently of Great British Menu, will be joining the business as senior production chef.
"Samira will work directly managing director Mitch Mitchell and head of food Aled Williams, driving the business forward. With Samira's fantastic culinary background she will be a welcome addition, not only to Truefoods but also to ChefsTable."
