Noble Rot to open third London restaurant this spring

Noble Rot is to open its third restaurant in London's Mayfair this spring.

Founders Dan Keeling and Mark Andrew, the pair behind importers Keeling Andrew & Co and Shrine to the Vine wine shop, opened their first restaurant in London's Bloomsbury in 2015. This was followed by the launch of their Soho branch in 2020.

The duo posted the news on Instagram, stating: "We're hugely excited to announce that we have become the new custodians of 5 Trebeck Street – formerly longstanding French brasserie Le Boudin Blanc – which will re-open as Noble Rot Mayfair in spring 2023.

"We love rejuvenating old buildings: both our original Rotter Towers on Lambs Conduit Street, and second restaurant in the old site of the famous Gay Hussar on Greek St are marinated in hospitality history.

"This, our third place, is certainly not lacking in its own rackety and scandalous past. With its winding staircases, wonky floors, wood panelling and countless other quirky period features, 5 Trebeck St first opened as The Running Horse (pictured) in the mid-1800s, a handsome pub that earned a ripe reputation with Scotland Yard over the decades."

The Mayfair restaurant is said to be offering Noble Rot's "trademark warmth and fine cooking" and is due to feature the group's "most ambitious wine programme yet".

Noble Rot started as a magazine about wine, food and the creative arts in 2013 before it launched its first bricks-and-mortar restaurant in 2015.
