Wilson's Bread Shop, Bristol
Co-founders Jan Ostle and Mary Wilson of Michelin-green-star restaurant Wilson's in Bristol have opened Wilson's Bread Shop in a bid to offer local produce to the community.
Open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Wilson's offers home-baked bread, desserts, pâtisserie and hot drinks.
Surplus fruit and vegetables from Wilson's Market Garden that cannot be used at the restaurant are also sold at the bakery.
The site resides in a building that stood as a bakery for more than 100 years, and features a large original outdoor ‘Hovis' sign. Head baker Ben Martin uses WildFarmed regenerative flour for his sourdough.

Flat Iron, Kensington, London
Steakhouse Flat Iron has opened a 90-cover site in London's Kensington. The Grade II-listed space designed by Clare Nash and Applied Studio features high ceilings, oak panelling and vintage furniture. The menu also offers a selection of rotating specials.

Humdingers Eatery, Highbury, London
Hoxton-based Humdingers Catering has launched its third bakery, in London's Highbury. The site retains the original features of the 20th-century fishmongers it once was and also offers free hot meals to those in need in the local community.

Hort's Townhouse, Bristol
Pub with rooms Hort's Townhouse has opened in a Grade II-listed Young's pub in Bristol. The pub is led by head chef Michael Pooley and the upper floor features 19 bedrooms with Hypnos beds and rainfall showers.

Esti, Hackney, London
Greek-inspired casual dining restaurant Esti has launched its residency at TT Liquor in London's Shoreditch with a view to opening a permanent site in the autumn.
Esti, named after the Greek word for restaurant (estiatorio) and for ‘to do' (esti), offers a range of traditional sharing dishes.Founder Kostas Vais, who is passionate about his Greek heritage, was inspired by his mother and grandmother's cooking.
Head chef Sal Galasso has brought an Australian twist to the menu after having worked in restaurants across Australia, including Totti's and Rockpool Bar & Grill, for 11 years.
Ingredients will feature British seasonal produce and a small selection of Australian herbs and spices, such as lemon myrtle, finger lime and forest anise.

Rove London Paddington

Riviera, Mayfair, London
Emerald Hospitality Group, which owns El Norte, Zuaya and Como Garden, is to launch Southern French restaurant Rivieria in London's Mayfair after a 16-month refurbishment. A ground floor bar will open in May, and a 54-cover terrace will launch in June.

Doner Shack, Marylebone, London
Berlin street-food brand Döner Shack is to debut in London with an offer of 200 free kebaps on opening day. The 35-cover restaurant is set across two floors and includes a kitchen staffed with robotic kebab cutters.

Fat Walrus Pub x Whole Beast, New Cross, London
Sam and Alicja Bryant of pop-up nose-to-tail concept Whole Beast have found a home in David Mitchell's the Fat Walrus pub in London's New Cross.
The pair from Whole Beast, dubbed "veterans of Meatopia" festival, are known for using different charcoal and maximising all elements of their ingredients, whether it be meat or vegetables.
The trio have now joined forces to create a menu showcasing British produce and live fire cooking, which has the added benefit of the pub's outside barbecue, charcoal grill and beer garden.
The new Sunday roast selection features a range of meat options, including smoked chicken or mutton shoulder, as well as coal roast vegetable plate with ironbark pumpkin, burnt leek and celeriac.

Oxford-based Dodo Pub Co is to open its seventh pub in Bristol as it takes over the Cross Hands in Fishponds. This will be renamed the All Inn and open after refurbishment with a trademark ‘all out' launch party.

Family-run Nelson Hotels & Inns has opened its fifth venue, restaurant and wedding barn the Manor at Greasby on the Wirral. The Manor offers an all-day menu featuring a mix of British classics and Asian fusion cuisine, as well as afternoon tea on weekdays.

Claridge's ArtSpace Café, Mayfair, London
Claridge's in London's Mayfair has launched its ArtSpace Café, which marks the first opening under the hotel's new culinary director, Dmitri Magi.
Open daily for breakfast and lunch, the café offers a variety of crêpes, tortillas, toasties, croque monsieurs, madeleines and cakes under the leadership of executive pastry chef Thibault Hauchard.
All dishes and drinks – including Champagne – are suitable for takeaway.Coffee is supplied from the independent Cornwall-based Origin Coffee, while the
Café's signature hot chocolate is made from Claridge's-crested blocks of chocolate dunked in hot milk.
The space, which has its own dedicated entrance on Brook's Mews, has been designed by John Pawson and features a pâtisserie counter, a marble communal table and a rotating downstairs gallery.

Joia, Battersea Power Station, London
Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa has opened Iberian restaurant Joia in the Art'otel hotel in London's Battersea Power Station.
Sá Pessoa, who also runs the two-Michelin-starred Alma in Lisbon, has drawn inspiration from his culinary heritage to offer a selection of dishes celebrating Catalonian techniques, British and Iberian produce, and Mediterranean flavours.
Bar manager Alessandro Mannello oversees Joia bar, which resides on the 14th floor. Twelve signature cocktails have been named after gems from the region, including the Safira Rosa, a mezcal-based cocktail with elderflower, grapefruit soda and rose petal water, and the Pèrola, a mix of peach liqueur, rhubarb bitters and Champagne.
The 85-cover restaurant is on the 15th floor and features interior design by Russell Stage Studio, influenced by the Power Station's art deco style.
