Ian Richardson has been appointed general manager of Iconic Luxury Hotels' 11 Cadogan Gardens in London's Chelsea.

Richardson joins the five-AA-star, 56-bedroom hotel from Jumeirah, where he was most recently general manager of the Jumeirah Carlton Tower, which closed for an extensive renovation last year. He had earlier opened the Jumeirah Hotel Nanjing, the brand's flagship property in Asia.

Andrew Stembridge, executive director of Iconic Luxury Hotels, which also includes Cliveden House in Berkshire, Chewton Glen in Hampshire and the Lygon Arms in Worcestershire, said: "We are proud to welcome Ian Richardson to the Iconic Luxury Hotels team, overseeing the future growth and success of our special London neighbourhood hotel. Last November saw 11 Cadogan Gardens join the Relais & Châteaux family as the association's only London property, and we are excited for Ian to further propel the property as it enters the new era post-pandemic."

Richardson added: "I am delighted to be joining the Iconic family. I look forward to working with the team to bring this wonderful property out of its enforced Covid-19 hibernation, and to further enhance its excellent reputation in the London market."

Located in Chelsea, just off Sloane Square, 11 Cadogan Gardens was built by Lord Chelsea in the late 19th century as part of the Cadogan Estate.
