The Grand Brighton hotel names new executive chef
The Grand Brighton hotel has promoted its head chef Neil Gooding (pictured) to the role of executive chef.
The move comes two months after former executive chef Alan White announced he was leaving the Brighton hotel to join the Goodwood Estate near Chichester, West Sussex, as estate group executive chef.
Gooding has worked at the Grand Brighton since 2006, when he joined as a sous chef, before he was promoted to senior sous chef and later head chef, where he worked closely with White up until his departure.
In his new role, Gooding heads up a team of 20 chefs, providing breakfast for hotel guests, as well as overseeing the seasonal menus for the hotel's Cyan restaurant, and providing food for conference and events.
Gooding said: "It is an incredibly exciting time at the hotel and I'm honoured to take up the role of executive chef. I have a brilliant team working alongside me and I am really looking forward to what the future holds."
Prior to joining the Grand Brighton 15 years ago, Gooding worked at hotels including Brown's in Mayfair, Summer Lodge Country House in Dorset, Joanna's Restaurant in London and Seldon Park Hotel in Surrey.
Andrew Mosley, general manager at the Grand Brighton, said: "I want to congratulate Neil on the promotion and I look forward to seeing him drive our food offering throughout the hotel and Cyan, it's a definitely an exciting time for The Grand."
