Alan White joins Goodwood Estate as group executive chef
Alan White has been appointed estate group executive chef at Goodwood Estate near Chichester, West Sussex.
He joins from the Grand Brighton hotel, where he was executive chef for 16 years.
In his new role White will oversee the dishes served at the Goodwood hotel, the Farmer Butcher Chef restaurant, the Kennels clubhouse and Hound Lodge, as well as afternoon tea at the House and catering for meetings and events.
He will also be responsible for menus designed to improve gut health during the new five-day, residential Goodwood Health Programme.
Andrew Coggings, Goodwood entertaining and hospitality manager, said it had been a "longstanding goal" to bring White to Goodwood.
White started his career at St Catherine's Lodge hotel in Hove and then worked as chef de partie at St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club in Chepstow and the Midland hotel in Manchester.
He has also held head chef and executive roles at Brandshatch Place Hotel & Spa Fawkham, Kent, the De Vere Selsdon Estate in Croydon and at Southampton's Grand Harbour hotel.
White said: "There are so many opportunities to be creative at Goodwood, while staying true to its heritage. I can't wait to put my own stamp on dining experiences for Goodwood's guests and I'm looking forward to the large-scale meetings and events we have planned in 2022."
