Gordon Ramsay to open Street Burger in Islington

Gordon Ramsay is to open his latest Street Burger restaurant in London's Islington this Friday (25 June).

The chef has taken the former Byron burger site at 341 Upper Street, where he will offer a burger, fries and unlimited soft drinks for £15.

It will be the fifth Street Burger to open since the brand's debut in London's St Paul's in December 2020.

Gordon Ramsay Restaurants is on a major expansion drive and last year said it plans to open up to 50 new restaurants across the UK.

In the past six months Street Burger restaurants have opened in former Byron sites on Charing Cross Road and Kensington High Street, as well as in Covent Garden and in Woking.

The biggest restaurant yet, with 175 seats, will launch at the O2 arena in July.

Ramsay has also opened Street Pizza sites in London's Battersea, Southwark, Camden and St Paul's since 2018.

A Gordon Ramsay Academy cookery school is due to replace the Tante Marie Culinary Academy facility above the Woking restaurant this autumn.

In May Gordon Ramsay Restaurants named Antony Perring as its new chief financial officer. He previously held similar roles at Leon and Wagamama during periods of rapid growth for the chains.
