Letter from the editor: The Caterer to temporarily move to digital only
Dear subscriber,
I hope you are well.
I can appreciate what a difficult time it must be for you and your business, no matter which part of the industry you are in.
The Caterer's mission is to empower the leaders of today and aspiring leaders of tomorrow with tools, skills and networks to enable them to make better decisions to grow their businesses and careers.
These include a weekly magazine, a market-leading website thecaterer.com and a suite of email alerts including the Breakfast Briefing sent to 32,000 industry leaders each weekday.
The Caterer's portfolio of 35 annual events includes the Cateys, Hotel Cateys, Foodservice Cateys, Acorn Awards, UK Sommelier of the Year, Product Excellence Awards and Caterer Summits.
With the unprecedented events taking place around us, we need to remain nimble to continue to deliver these products and services at a time when you need them most.
Just last week, we switched The Caterer's Social Media Summit from a physical event in a hotel in London, to a virtual webinar attended by 100 hospitality marketing professionals watching from their homes.
The Caterer to temporarily move to digital only
The next change is that for the time-being, we will cease printing a physical copy of the magazine, distributed to thousands of empty hotels and restaurants, and instead send a digital copy to all our subscribers.
Those who currently read their digital subscriptions online will continue to do so as normal.
Those who currently get a print copy will instead be emailed a link on Wednesday morning to read a digital edition of that week's copy of the magazine.
We will continue to review the situation and keep you posted on any further changes.
One thing that won't change is it will remain packed full of advice, news, expert opinion and inspiration to help your business thrive – in 2020 and well beyond.
We will continue to produce daily advice to help your business tackle the current coronavirus pandemic, so please send your questions and challenges to news@thecaterer.com and we will do all we can to support you and find answers to your questions.
Thank you for your ongoing support and we wish you and those closest to you all the very best.
Kind regards, Chris
