Zak Jones to head launch of new restaurant at Crimple Hall
Zak Jones, the former owner of the Chancery and the Clerkenwell Dining Room in London, has been appointed to oversee the opening of a new restaurant at Crimple Hall, near Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Crimple Hall is a family-owned business run by Graham and Tori Watson Moss and their two daughters. The new £4m, 20,000sqft venture incorporates a restaurant, bistro, food hall and event space. Set to open in November alongside an existing garden centre, it will employ more than 80 staff.
Enjoying views across the Crimple Valley, the 160-seat restaurant will have access to the food hall's butcher and specialist suppliers.
Jones said: "This is an incredible opportunity to build a first-class restaurant with access to the best produce in the region and beyond. We have some really exciting plans for this remarkable venue and, as such, I am now looking for excellent restaurant team members to join me."
The restaurant and food hall will be located in what is described as "a truly sustainable building" designed by ArkleBoyce Architects.
Jones owned the Chancery restaurant in London's Holborn from 2004 to 2017 before joining Soho House as general manager and Rhubarb as director. Earlier in his career he worked as general manager of Soho's L'Escargot restaurant when it was owned by Marco Pierre White.
In October 2020 it was announced that Jones had joined the new Moss and Moor restaurant located in a garden centre in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. However, he is no longer involved in the 230-seat outlet.
The restaurant at Crimple Hall will be open seven days a week from 11am to 11pm (10am to 10pm on Sunday).
