Woburn hotel announces permanent closure

The Woburn hotel on the Woburn Estate has announced it will remain closed permanently, having closed temporarily during the government-enforced lockdown.

A statement on the hotel website said: "Having closed our doors on Saturday 21 March following the government directive, it is with much regret that the extremely difficult decision has been made for the Woburn hotel to remain closed permanently.

"Our dedicated colleagues are now in the process of contacting all our guests who have forthcoming reservations with us... We would like to thank all of our guests, colleagues and partners for your loyalty, support and friendship to us all over the years and wish you well for the future."

The four-silver-AA-star property has 55 bedrooms, including seven cottage suites, and sits on the Woburn Estate, home of the 15th Duke of Bedford, and houses the two-AA-rosette Olivier's restaurant.

The hotel relaunched following a refurbishment in 2014, having been known previously as the Inn at Woburn.
