Iconic Luxury Hotels announces international expansion
Iconic Luxury Hotels has revealed plans for international expansion with new hotels in Italy, Greece and the US joining the collection.
The luxury hotel operator's current portfolio includes Cliveden House and Chewton Glen, with Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort in Italy (pictured) its first international property. The hotel has 196 bedrooms and has been the home of the Venice Film Festival since 1932.
A new integrated resort development in Mykonos, Greece, will be followed by Palm House hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, with both due to join in 2021.
Iconic Luxury Hotels' existing UK portfolio includes the five-red-AA-starred, 72-bedroom AA Hotel of the Year 2019-20 Chewton Glen in Hampshire; the five-red-AA-starred, 48-bedroom Cliveden House in Taplow, Berkshire; the Lygon Arms, a 600-year-old luxury coaching inn in Broadway, Worcestershire, which has 86 bedrooms; and the five-AA-starred, 56-bedroom 11 Cadogan Gardens in London. The Mayfair Town House in London will also join the collection in late 2020.
Executive director Andrew Stembridge will continue to oversee the group's UK portfolio, while Petra Deuter has been appointed executive director for Iconic Luxury Hotels' international portfolio, and will be responsible for the performance and growth outside of the UK.
She said: "L+R Hotels is very pleased to announce that Iconic Luxury Hotels is going international this year with the inclusion of Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort in Italy and hotels in Greece and the US in 2021. We have ambitious plans for international growth and it's an honour to welcome these hotels to start that journey.
"Over the next few years we will see our collection continue to grow worldwide as we further our reputation for sustainable hospitality – preserving the life of historic buildings like Hotel Excelsior – and creating memorable travel experiences."
Iconic Luxury Hotels was founded in December 2016 and is part of L+R Hotels, a family-owned global hotel investment and management company with a portfolio of more than 90 hotels, with approximately 17,000 bedrooms.
