Manchester's Wilderness Bar + Kitchen announces name change to avoid confusion with Birmingham operator
Manchester's Wilderness Bar + Kitchen has announced its name will change after the owners became aware of a similarly named operation in Birmingham.
The decision, which comes six weeks after opening, will see the restaurant renamed the Wolf at the Door. The two-storey restaurant and bar in the city's Northern Quarter was launched by the owners of Manchester's Wilderness Record Store.
However after opening, the operators discovered the Wilderness in Birmingham, which describes its offering as ‘rock and roll fine dining' and shares a similar ethos, which it felt could lead to confusion.
Owner Dan Morris said: "Since we first heard about The Wilderness in Birmingham, we have taken some time to get to know them and what they do. It is great to see like-minded people doing so well and we decided that as we both have big ambitions for the future it is best to make this change today.
"The offering, design and ethos of our space will all remain the same and we will continue to look forwards and do our best to make Wolf at the Door a really special place that we can be proud of."
