Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake prepare to open sports bar in Scotland
Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake have announced plans to bring their sports bar, T-Squared Social, to St Andrews, following the launch of their first site in New York last month.
The pair have partnered with Nexus Luxury Collection to develop the premium sports and entertainment gastro pub concept, which will take over the New Picture House Cinema in St Andrews in 2024 should it receive planning permission.
The second T-Squared Social will offer Full Swing simulators for golf (considering St Andrews is considered the home of the sport), duckpin bowling lanes, darts and a selection of craft cocktails and classic dishes.
It will keep one of the main movie theatres from the cinema for films and marquee TV programming.
Woods revealed the idea for T-Square Social stemmed from a round of golf between himself and Timberlake at the Albany in the Bahamas.
David Morris, managing director of the New Picture House, said: "Since opening for the first time in 1930, the New Picture House has been an integral part of the town's entertainment base. The planned T-Squared Social investment will enable the local community, students and visitors, the opportunity to experience a broader range of cinema, dining and entertainment at the popular venue."
Christopher Anand, chief executive and managing partner at Nexus Luxury Collection, added: "Our inaugural location in New York City is exceeding all performance metrics. We are excited to open our second location here and look forward to working with the local planning board to create something truly special in St. Andrews."
The New Picture House will continue to operate "as usual" until further notice.
T-Squared Social is owned by Nexus Luxury Collection, 8AM Golf, Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake.
Property advisor Savills represented T-Squared Social with the St. Andrews transaction, while the seller was represented by Entertainment Solution Services.
