Staycity secures planning for fourth Manchester aparthotel

Aparthotel operator Staycity has received planning permission for the development of a fourth property in Manchester, in the city's Deansgate area.

The 21-storey, 310-apartment scheme, being developed by Ask Real Estate, will consist of 246 studios and 64 one-bedroom apartments with a gym and laundrette.

The development is part of the area's redevelopment, which will also see the opening of two of the archways within the nearby Castlefield Viaduct for retail and dining opportunities.

Staycity already has a 182-apartment property at Manchester Piccadilly, which opened in 2017, and another two under development, in the Northern Quarter and in St Peter's Square. The latter will become a Wilde Aparthotel by Staycity, the group's premium brand.

Established in Dublin in 2004, the group also has sites in cities including Birmingham, Dublin, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London and York.
