Mars Black Sheep Hotels falls into administration
Mars Black Sheep Hotels has fallen into administration, owing Aberdeen-based construction company Douglas & Stewart more than £3m.
According to documents filed on Companies House, Donald Iain McNaught and Matthew Purdon Henderson of Johnston Carmichael were appointed joint administrators on 18 March.
Indian entrepreneurs Sanjay and Rachna Narang launched the Black Sheep Group of hotels last year in the Scottish Highlands, including the former Craigard Guest House, a 13-bedroom early Victorian country house relaunched as Rokeby Manor; the Cluanie Inn at Glenmoriston (pictured); and the Whispering Pine Lodge in Spean Bridge, formerly the Letterfinlay Lodge.
Around £3m was spent acquiring the three properties and another £9m refurbishing them.
Administrators confirmed the Whispering Pine Lodge and the Cluanie Inn are both operated under management that will continue under the administration, although both sites are currently closed due to Covid-19 restrictions. Rokeby Manor is unaffected by the administration as it is owned by a separate entity.
