Shepherd Neame looking to hire more than 300 new staff
Shepherd Neame is looking to hire more than 300 new team members as it prepares to reopen its entire estate.
The brewer and pub company has a total of 312 pubs and hotels, 65 of which are managed, in Kent, London and the south east.
After more than five months of closure it reopened 75% of its estate for outside service last month and will be opening the remainder from 17 May.
Shepherd Neame employs over 1,500 people and is recruiting for full- and part-time staff across management, front of house and kitchen roles.
Hospitality businesses across the industry have reported struggling to find staff around reopening, with one chef describing recruitment as "impossible'.
Nigel Bunting, director of retail and tenanted operations at Shepherd Neame, said: "We have been overwhelmed by the positive customer response since we began opening our pubs last month, and we expect to be busy this summer as people enjoy socialising and reconnecting with friends and loved ones once again.
"After a challenging year, we are delighted to finally be able to look ahead and plan for the future and recruit talented people to join our team – and also do our bit to help start rebuilding the local economy."
