Roux Scholarship postponed until autumn
The Roux Scholarship has been postponed until autumn because of restrictions associated with the coronavirus.
The organisers wrote to those associated with the awards today to explain the situation.
They said: "It's with regret, but for all participant's safety, that we have taken the decision to postpone the remaining stages of the competition until the autumn. New dates will be confirmed in due course."
Earlier this month the regional finalists were announced for the Roux Scholarship 2020, with 18 chefs represented from across the country.
The chefs were selected having submitted a paper application accompanied by written recipe for a whole hake and grooved carpet shell clams.
They will cook the dishes they entered, along with a dessert from a box of ingredients given to them on the day, at regional finals which will be reorganised for later this year.
