National Waiters' Day to see front of house teams test their skills in 100m dash

National Waiters' Day will once again see the industry's best front of house teams test their skills against one another by taking part in a 100m dash while balancing a tray.

The annual campaign, which highlights the skill and dedication of front of house teams, is a collaboration between Fred Sirieix, general manager of Galvin at Windows in the London Hilton in Park Lane, and charity Springboard.

Now in its seventh year, the National Waiters' Day celebration will be held at the London Hospitality Festival, at King's House Sports Ground in Chiswick, on Sunday 8 September, however races between competing establishments are being organised across the country.

Sirieix said: "Since launching National Waiters' Day in 2012, we've been able to engage so many people from all areas of hospitality to join up and celebrate the fantastic work being achieved. I am so proud to be a part of such a diverse and important industry and I hope that National Waiters' Day will continue to grow and allow more people to choose careers in hospitality."

The Hospitality Festival is free to attend for hospitality staff and their families including football and softball tournaments, food stalls, live music and children's entertainment.
