Mumford & Sons star to open music and dining destination in Kings Cross
Mumford & Sons star Ben Lovett is to open a music and dining destination at Goods Way in London's King's Cross.
The Courtyard at Goods Way will be co-located with new music venue Lafayette, and will feature operators including Breddos Tacos and the Duck Truck, with others expected to be announced in January.
Lafayette, the Courtyard at Goods Way and bar Sweetwater will be launched in February with the intention of becoming a home of live music and quality independent food.
It will be operated by the Venue Group, which is headed up by Mumford & Sons keyboard player Ben Lovett.
He said: "In a world that seems increasingly obsessed with perception over substance, or digital over analogue, there are few more honest experiences than live music and eating fresh food from a small, independent and passionate operator.
"The DNA of musicians and chefs is actually quite similar. It's about putting a lot of heart and passion into what you do with little to no regard for whether it helps to pay the rent, and all in the name of their art.
"A menu is a chef's setlist, and a signature dish could be a band's breakout single. Despite this, there have been very few examples of where the two have been brought together successfully to date.
"Our philosophy is to celebrate all this independence and create an environment for them both to thrive within."
