Home, Evelyn's Table and Unalome among 12 new additions to Michelin Guide
Michelin's latest monthly update has revealed a further 12 restaurants that will feature in its 2022 Great Britain and Ireland Guide.
The new additions include Welsh chef James Sommerin's restaurant Home in Penarth, Glamorgan, which opened this summer following the unexpected closure of the his eponymous Michelin-starred restaurant last year.
There were two new London listings: French chef Cyril Lignac's first UK restaurant Bar des Prés; and Evelyn's Table in London's Soho, created by 2017 Roux Scholarship winner Luke Selby.
Also listed in England was the Bailiwick in Egham, Surrey, a pub run by chefs Steven and Ami Ellis; Catch at the Old Fishmarket in Weymouth, Dorset; food writer Ruth Watson's Watson and Walpole in Framingham, Suffolk; Engine Social at Sowerby Bridge, Halifax; and Habas in Manchester.
The two Scottish additions were Unalome by Graeme Cheevers, which opened in Glasgow this summer; and the Glenturret Lalique, which is set within the world's oldest working whisky distillery in Crieff, Perth and Kinross.
In Ireland both the Glass Curtain in the city of Cork, and Adrift, a fourth-generation family-run restaurant at the Dunmore House hotel in Dunmore, County Cork, made the list.
Since August, Michelin has been unveiling monthly additions to its 2022 guide on the last Wednesday of every month. The restaurants appear on its website and apps highlighted with a ‘New' symbol.
It will not be confirmed if the new additions will receive a star, Bib Gourmand, Green Star, or be listed as recommended in the 2022 guide until a ceremony next year.
