The Lanesborough hotel to relaunch Celeste as the Lanesborough Grill
The Lanesborough hotel in London is to launch a new restaurant named the Lanesborough Grill on 25 April.
The flagship modern British restaurant will replace Céleste, which recently lost its Michelin star in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2022.
Chef Shay Cooper, who oversaw the Bingham hotel in Richmond and the Goring in Belgravia when they won Michelin stars, will be heading up the Grill.
He was appointed executive chef of the five-red-AA-starred Lanesborough hotel in July 2021, having spent the previous two years as chef patron of Julie's in Holland Park.
Located in an ornate dining room, the Grill will champion the best of seasonal British food, serving both an a la carte and a set menu. Signature dishes will include Hereford beef tartare, poached native lobster cooked with spring radishes; and Yorkshire rhubarb trifle served on Gueridon trolleys.
There will also be an extensive wine list, with pre and post dinner drinks taking place in the fire-lit Withdrawing Room/Library Bar.
The Grill has collaborated with art consultancy group Art Acumen to display pieces from British artists, which will be made available for purchase.
Cooper said: "Our vision is to take the combination of tradition and innovation to create a compelling contemporary offering, using the very best of British produce to deliver unforgettable dining experiences in one of London's most beautiful and atmospheric Regency dining rooms.
"It's important that our guests enjoy more than just great food and drink – we want to infuse fun and creative elements and, of course, a sense of high glamour."
