Klaus Kabelitz stands down as general manager of Belmond Cadogan
Klaus Kabelitz has stood down as general manager of the Belmond Cadogan in London's Chelsea, 10 months after he led the opening of the luxury hotel group's first London property.
The much-anticipated 54-bedroom hotel, sister property to the acclaimed Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Great Milton, Oxfordshire, opened in February following a four-year, £28m renovation.
Kabelitz had been enticed to the project from Le Richemond, a Dorchester Collection hotel in Geneva, Switzerland, where he moved in 2012 having spent nine years as general manager of the Berkeley in London.
A spokesperson for Belmond said: "We can confirm that Klaus Kabelitz has decided to step down from his role as general manager of Belmond Cadogan Hotel to pursue another opportunity in the new year, to be announced in due course.
"Belmond would like to thank Klaus for leading the successful opening of the company's first London property and wish him well for the future. We look forward to announcing a successor to this role in the coming weeks".
