Julia Sibley to leave chief executive role at Savoy Educational Trust
Julia Sibley MBE has announced that she will be leaving her role as chief executive of the Savoy Educational Trust at the end of the year.
Sibley (pictured above left) has led the Trust for almost 25 years, overseeing the delivery of over £20m worth of grants for educational and professional development projects in the hospitality and charity sector.
In 2021, the Trust donated a £1m grant – the largest made by trustees in its 60-year history – to the charity Springboard's ‘Springboard to 2022' campaign. The funds enabled over 1,000 young people to work in the hospitality industry.
Howard Field, chair of the Savoy Educational Trust, said: "As chief executive, Julia has been a tireless force for good in hospitality, steering the trust through some challenging times to support wide-ranging projects designed to promote the advancement of hospitality skills.
"We thank Julia for her ongoing dedication to the industry, to the trust and the development of hospitality careers and wish her all the very best with her future endeavours."
Administrator and secretary to the trustees, Margaret Georgiou, who has worked closely with Julia, will continue her role at the Trust.
The Trust is now seeking a new chief executive, supported by head-hunter Liz Hartstone.
The Savoy Educational Trust is an independent, grant-giving charitable organisation founded in 1961 by directors of the then Savoy Hotel Group. The trustees award grants to educational establishments and social enterprises that are affiliated with the hospitality industry.
