Hospitality Rising exceeds 72,000 job applications
Recruitment initiative Hospitality Rising has received 72,409 job applications since it launched last October.
The ‘Rise Fast, Work Young' campaign targets young people to join the industry and has been attracting 4,200 applications each week.
More than 43,700 roles have been posted on the jobs board to date.
The campaign was founded by Mark McCulloch in 2021 to allevaite the staff shortages and is backed by more than 300 businesses and celebrity chefs, including Raymond Blanc and Tom Kerridge.
Hospitality Rising asks supporters to pledge £5 per employee as it aims to reach its £5m goal, which will enable the movement to become a "government-sized" collaborative campaign that will change people's misconceptions of the industry.
Mark McCulloch, founder of Hospitality Rising and campaign director, said: "We are over the moon with the success of the campaign so far and to see such an immense number of people coming forward to apply for a role within the hospitality sector.
"The fact that our campaign has attracted more than 72,000 applications and counting within just four months highlights the fact that our movement is growing, and that people really do see what a fantastic industry hospitality is to work in.
He added: "To achieve that we need even more businesses to join us and would urge any operators or suppliers not already involved, to grab the opportunity to come together to help tackle the workforce crisis that is threatening our brilliant industry."
