Harrow at Little Bedwyn on the market for £735,000
The Harrow at Little Bedwyn, which has been run by Roger and Sue Jones for 21 years, is on the market at a guide price of £735,000 for the freehold of the property.
In January the couple announced their intention to sell the business in Marlborough, which has received an array of accolades for both its food and wine offering. They included the AA Restaurant of the Year 2011, AA Wine List of the Year on two occasions and a Michelin star, which it held for 12 years until its removal in the 2019 Guide.
Roger and Sue Jones will operate the last service at the 34-cover restaurant on 28 March.
Sue said: "The decision has not been easy in many ways, but we feel that we have achieved everything we can and more, so it is time to move onto other things.
"Our experience has been made possible by the loyalty and support of our dear friends and family, not forgetting top suppliers, talented winemakers and an amazing trade that has seen us through so many highlights."
Nicholas Calfe, director at Christie & Co which is handling the sale, added: "This delightful 19th century former public house has been an award-winning Michelin star restaurant for many years. Whilst inevitably this accolade will depart with our clients, its reputation will remain, allowing new ambitious owners the chance to re-establish The Harrow as a quality dining venue."
Roger and Sue Jones have said they would continue to raise money for good causes, with Roger also set to concentrate on his wine judging, consultancy and writing.
