Hamilton Hotel Partners merges with Pyramid Hotel Group

London-based hotel management and investment firm Hamilton Hotel Partners has merged with Pyramid Hotel Group, an American hotel company.

The joining of the two companies has created a group that will manage or asset manage 141 hotels with 32,000 rooms across eight countries, with a combined value of £5.3b.

Hamilton's 50-strong portfolio across Europe includes 43 hotels in the UK including the St Pancras Renaissance (pictured) and the Marriott County Hall, both in London.

Pyriamid is the third largest hotel management company in the US with 90 properties operating independently and under brands belonging to Marriott, Hilton, InterContinental Hotels Group and Hyatt.

Both the Hamilton and Pyramid brands will be retained for the foreseeable future, with Warren Fields, co-founder and chief executive of Pyramid, taking on the role of CEO of the combined group, with partners and co-founders of Hamilton, Frank Croston and Chris Evans, continuing in their roles leading the Hamilton business.

Croston said: "This merger allows us to significantly accelerate our own organic plans for growth and to benefit hugely from the high quality and highly experienced team at Pyramid."
