Chef Gino D'Acampo to open Italian restaurant and bar at Leeds Marriott
Celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo has announced that he will be opening an Italian restaurant and bar at the Leeds Marriott Hotel this spring.
It will be the first of a number of new signings for Gino D'Acampo Hotels & Leisure following its partnership with Marriott Hotels International and Hamilton-Pyramid Europe.
It also marks D'Acampo's sixth opening in less than two years, which comes after launches in Manchester, Newcastle, Liverpool, London, and Alderley Edge.
His latest all-day dining venue, currently dubbed Gino D'Acampo, Trevelyan Sq, Boar Lane, Leeds, will see a £1.5m investment and create 52 jobs.
The 160-cover restaurant, which has been designed by international designer Bernard Carroll, will feature a marble bar and lounge area, a cicchetti bar, deli and an outdoor terrace following a refurbishment programme starting on 10 January.
D'Acampo and his team have put together a menu that offers classic Italian dishes with a focus on provenance.
It will also be available in the Marriott's banqueting and meeting spaces.
D'Acampo said: "I have a long relationship with the city having opened one of my first restaurants in Leeds almost eight years ago and I'm thrilled to return with the opening of my new upmarket Italian restaurant and bar, which I promise will be something else.
"We've been looking for the perfect location for some time and at Leeds Marriott Hotel we have found it."
Alan Malloy, general manager at Leeds Marriott Hotel, added: "We are thrilled to be working with Gino and his team and can't wait to welcome guests this spring.
"Our goal is to bring the very best choice in upmarket dining to our hotel guests and local audience. Our partnership with Gino D'Acampo could not be a better fit and we are looking forward to the opening of this fabulous restaurant and bar in the heart of our hotel."
D'Acampo also hinted at plans to announce his first international location.
