Dominvs Group to open two hotels in London's Nine Elms in 2024
Dominvs Group has received approval for its 837-room dual hotel scheme from Wandsworth Council's planning committee.
The London-based investor and real estate developer's latest venture is due to open as a single site in London's Nine Elms, west of the US embassy, in 2024.
Both hotels will be designed by international architects Squire + Partners, targeting BREEAM Excellent ratings.
Although each hotel will be managed by different operators, they will share a common basement.
The north hotel is to provide a midscale offer with 11 storeys and 360 rooms, while the south hotel is to be marketed as affordable luxury, with 15 storeys and 477 rooms.
It comes as the Dominvs group, which was founded in 2011, seeks to expand its £2.4b pipeline.
The dual hotel scheme also received permission from the six-hectare Embassy Gardens redevelopment, which placed the venue within a 15 minute walk of Vauxhall, Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms.
The Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce is backing the project, which is estimated to contribute between £8.2 million and £13 million to the local economy through guest spending, as well as offering further employment opportunities.
Jay Ahluwalia, principal at Dominvs Group, said: "This scheme is a testament to our team's in-depth knowledge of local markets, and the ability to remain agile to maximise the value created for the two pan-European tenants who will lease the hotels in a further boost to the capital's thriving hospitality sector."
Tim Gledstone, Partner at Squire + Partners, added: "The hotels are designed as a sculptural counterpart to the American Embassy. Distinctly expressive and textured, the crafted façades take inspiration from the nearby River Thames, fragmenting and rippling the light. Bay windows offer guests wide-reaching views of Nine Elms, the Thames and across London."
Dominvs Group owns 12 hotels, including the Dixon hotel in London's Tower Bridge, Holiday Inn Manchester, Motto by Hilton London Marylebone, Crowne Plaza Aberdeen Airport, Premier Inn Milton Keynes City Centre and Courtyard by Marriott York City Centre.
