Diane von Furstenberg to design 2018 Claridge's Christmas tree
Fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg will design the Claridge's Christmas tree this year.
A long-time guest of the 190-bedroom, five-red-AA-star hotel and designer of 20 of Claridge's rooms and suites in 2010, Von Furstenberg's ‘tree of love' will be unveiled in the hotel lobby on the morning of Tuesday 27 November.
Claridge's general manager Paul Jackson said: "Christmas has always been a truly special time of year at Claridge's and we are delighted to welcome Diane to spread her creative magic this year. Having designed a series of rooms and suites in her signature style in 2010, we really can't wait to see her vision for our tree."
Von Furstenberg added: "Claridge's is my favourite hotel in the world and my home in London. I was so excited to be invited to create its legendary annual Christmas Tree. My tree will be ‘the tree of love', celebrating all aspects of love and life."
This is the ninth year Claridge's has invited a guest to design their own tree. Previous designers include Sir Jony Ive of Apple, Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel, Christopher Bailey of Burberry and Alber Elbaz of Lanvin.
