However, a long spell of low rainfallis affecting the size, resulting in a higher proportion of the crop being smaller than usual. The European fruit season is now a month away, which will provide some very good quality fruit. |
![](https://api.thecaterer.com/cms/media/eas-id/7702722) | Strawberries Quality of UK-grown strawberries is very good, with high sugar levels and colour. However, the optimum weather conditions, time of year and plant types being harvested (predominantly everbearers) mean that fruit size is much larger than normal. Over the coming weeks, berries will become smaller as the nights raw in. |
![ | Stone fruit We are in the middle of a fantastic season for European stone fruit, due to optimum growing and harvesting conditions, so make the most of stunning peaches, nectarines, cherries, apricots and plums. |
