Claridge's unveils Jimmy Choo 'diamond' Christmas tree for 2022

Claridge's in London's Mayfair has partnered with luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo for the hotel's 13th Christmas tree.

Known as ‘the Diamond', this year's tree, which was unveiled today (23 November), is a five-metre-tall sculpture made of 69 shining mirrors, decorated with 60 metres of sparkling lights and 250 aluminium panels.

It has been topped with a giant glittering bow, a nod to one of the design themes of Jimmy Choo's winter collection, and is located in the hotel lobby.

Sandra Choi, creative director of Jimmy Choo, was joined by set designer Simon Costin for the construction of the tree, which took 350 hours to complete.

Guests are able to stand inside the tree, which Choi likened to stepping inside a diamond.

Choi said: "Claridge's is a London jewel, it's multifaceted, like the diamond that inspired our tree, like Jimmy Choo."

Paul Jackson, general manager of Claridge's, said: "Christmas is always a truly magical time of year for us here at Claridge's and this year, we look forward to seeing guests and visitors step inside Jimmy Choo's sparkling world."

This is the 12th year that Claridge's has invited one of its guests to reinterpret its Christmas tree in their own style.

Previous designers have included Christian Louboutin (2019), Diane von Furstenberg (2018) and Karl Lagerfield (2017).
