BrewDog gets green light for Manchester hotel opening
BrewDog has secured planning permission to open its first English hotel in Manchester this year.
Doghouse Manchester will feature a bar, restaurant and 18 overnight rooms set across three floors when it launches in mid-June. Guests will be offered a welcome beer on arrival and rooms will be furnished with shower beer fridges and draft beer taps.
Doghouse is opening as part of Bruntwood Works' Bloc development on Fountain Street, which will also include an independent coffee shop, cinema, co-working spaces and areas for pop-up events.
It will be BrewDog's third Manchester site and see the ground floor transformed in to a 3,512 sq ft bar and restaurant with a large outdoor terrace. A rooftop area will feature a bespoke bar serving tacos.
BrewDog currently runs two hotels in Ohio in the US and one in its home city of Aberdeen.
Last year the brand revealed it was searching for a suitable London site to open a craft beer hotel in the capital.
James Brown, head of bars at BrewDog, said: "The Doghouse Manchester includes our legendary shower fridges, draft beer on tap and our first rooftop bar serving over 28 different beers and tacos for our guests. We've really upped the ante offering our guests an unforgettable experience – they'll never want to leave."
BrewDog recently become a certified B Corporation, meaning it is one of the few large hospitality companies in the UK to be recognised for its sustainability standards.
