Underground food hall to open in Manchester this summer
An underground market hall and dining destination specialising in Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine is to open in Manchester this summer.
Hello Oriental will be spread over three floors beneath the soon-to-open Symphony Park in the city's Circle Square development. It has been created by the team behind Manchester's Ocean Treasure restaurant, who were inspired by the Bang Bang Oriental food hall in London and 1800 Lucky in Miami.
The site will feature a main hall serving dishes such as Chinese roast meats and dim sum, as well as a Chinese bakery and supermarket. It will open daily from 10am to 11pm and there are plans to host DJs and live music events at weekends.
Hello Oriental is due to launch in July. It is the latest addition to the Circle Square development, which will also feature a Premier Inn hotel, fitness studio TRIB3, offices and housing.
Azim Kourah, director of Hello Oriental, said: "Moving to the city's newest, fast growing neighbourhood enables us to reach new audiences through an original concept and delivered with the same exceptional levels of quality and service we're famous for."
The Ocean Treasure team initially launched Hello Oriental as an online supermarket last year.
