Artist Damien Hirst to close Ilfracombe restaurant

Artist Damien Hirst is to close his Ilfracombe restaurant after 14 years in the Devon town.

The Quay, which sits close to Hirst's 25-tonne, 20m tall, bronze statue Verity, will close on 7 October.

A spokesman for Hirst's company Science Ltd said: "Damien is making changes at his company and has made the difficult decision to close the Quay and sell or rent all the properties he owns on the seafront, finding the right people to take them on. Damien has a long history with Ilfracombe and loves the people and the area."
