Andrew Berridge appointed general manager at the Montagu Arms

Andrew Berridge has been appointed general manager of the Montagu Arms boutique hotel in the New Forest.

He is taking over from Severino Loi, who joined as general manager in August 2021.

Berridge has over fifteen years' experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to his new role, he was deputy general manager of Stanbrook Abbey Hotel in Worcester.

He has also held senior positions at the Manor House Hotel and the Peppermill, both of which were in Wiltshire, and the Stag & Huntsman in the Chiltern Hills.

Berridge said: "Having wanted to work at the Montagu Arms for almost a decade, I am thrilled to take on the role of general manager.

"I've been fortunate enough to work within some fantastic teams over the years and I look forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to this hotel to help build on its already stellar reputation and working closely with my new colleagues to continue to deliver special and memorable experiences for our guests."

James Hiley-Jones, managing director of the Montagu Arms' parent company Greenclose Hotels, added: "It is a very exciting time for the property with the recent launch of our new Courtyard Suites and the recent arrival of [executive] chef Nathan Eades.

"Andrew's passion, talent and experience will be a great addition to our hard-working team and I'm excited to see what he brings to the table."

The Montagu Arms is located in the Beaulieu in the New Forest and also operates the Terrace restaurant and British pub Monty's Inn.

In May, Nathan Eades was appointed as executive chef of the Terrace.
