1847 closes another site unexpectedly

Vegetarian restaurant brand 1847 has closed its Bristol branch and erased the venue's social media accounts without explanation.

Bristol Live has reported the restaurant has been sold due to its owner relocating abroad. The brand's Brighton branch, which opened in 2015, closed last year without explanation.

The 1847 group, named after the year the Vegetarian Society was formed, is now left with two sites in Manchester and Birmingham. The group relocated its Manchester restaurant last year to a site more than twice the size of the original.

1847 was founded by Damien Davenport, who formerly worked at Malmaison and Hotel du Vin.
