Wolseley Hospitality Group appoints Simon King as operations director
The Wolseley Hospitality Group, formerly known as Corbin & King, has appointed Simon King as operations director.
King takes over the position from Robert Holland, who been in the role since 2012, having joined Corbin and King as a chef de rang at the Ivy in 1991.
King started his career at the Ritz London and went on to work at groups including Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, Danny Meyers' Union Square Hospitality Group, Fat Duck Group and JKS Restaurants. His most recent position was as chief operating officer at the Birley Clubs group.
Baton Berisha, chief executive of the Wolseley Hospitality Group, said: "I am delighted that Simon is joining the Wolseley Hospitality Group family. I have worked with him previously and know how much he will bring to the running of our business.
"It is an exciting time for the group as we look to grow the business with new restaurants and concepts planned both in the UK and overseas.
"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Robert Holland who will leave the business to pursue new projects. Rob's 20-year tenure with the business has been key in their success, and his leadership and experience as operations director has been invaluable to me and the wider team. Together we will be working to ensure Simon is onboarded and prepared for a smooth transition."
The Wolseley Hospitality Group's portfolio includes London restaurants the Delaunay, Brasserie Zédel, Colbert, Fischer's, Soutine and Bellanger. It opened long-awaited seafood restaurant Manzi's earlier this year.
King's appointment comes ahead of the launch of the Wolseley City in the old House of Fraser building in the City of London this autumn.
