Vasco & Piero's to reopen in Soho at ex-Ceru site

Italian restaurant Vasco & Piero's Pavillion is to reopen later this year at the former Ceru site in London's Soho.

The original Vasco & Piero's on Poland Street was forced to close earlier this year after 50 years, but has now signed for a new location at 10-11 D'Arblay Street. Levantine-inspired restaurant Ceru closed at around the same time, but still has a restaurant in South Kensington and a new Queensway venue is due to open in the autumn.

Vasco & Piero's serves a regularly changing Umbrian-inspired menu. The interior of the new site will be designed by Panetta Design Architects, which is also behind the interiors of Petersham Nursery in Covent Garden.

Paul Matteucci, owner and son of Vasco & Piero's founder Vasco Matteucci, said: "We are thrilled to be back better than ever in a new location that will enable us to recommence our legacy, and allow us to undertake a new chapter in our journey after 50 years. Soho and its community are at the heart of our restaurant, and we are so excited to continue serving our beloved dishes to the people we have missed so much."

Shelley Sandzer acted for the private landlord.

Nick Weir, managing partner at Shelley Sandzer, said: "Vasco and Piero's is a Soho classic, and it's wonderful to have played a key role in bringing them back to where they belong. Working alongside an independent favourite, which has made its mark in central London through years of dedication and service, is something we're proud to do. As the hospitality market continues its post-pandemic rebound, the Vasco and Piero's return will help push forward dining culture in London's foodie hub."
