Tube strikes set for this week called off
Tube strikes planned for Wednesday 4 October and Friday 6 October have been called off.
The RMT union said planned strike action by over 3,000 of its members would now not go ahead due to "significant progress" in its talks with London Underground Limited (LUL) representatives.
Following talks at ACAS, the RMT said it was able to "save key jobs, prevent detrimental changes to rosters and secure protection of earnings" for members.
Mick Lynch, RMT general secretary, said: "I congratulate all our members who were prepared to take strike action and our negotiations team for securing this victory in our tube dispute.
"Without the unity and industrial power of our members, there is no way we would have been able to make the progress we have.
"We still remain in dispute over outstanding issues around pensions and working agreements and will continue to pursue a negotiated settlement."
It comes after thirty-seven hospitality brands signed an open letter in conjunction with UKHospitality urging train unions not to strike during the upcoming festive period.
Train drivers in the ASLEF union are still set to strike on 4 October, bringing much fo the UK rail network to a standstill. There is also an overtime ban across the UK rail network until 6 October.
