Vices York hotel to open in former Victorian police station

A former Victorian police station in York is being transformed into a three-suite luxury hotel with a restaurant and bar as well as a boutique wine shop.

The Vices York was due to open this month; however, due to Covid-19 delays, the Vices Archive shop selling Italian wines, Champagnes and balsamic vinegars will open next month, while the hotel, which will focus on design and technology, is set to open in the winter.

Daniel Curro and Moreno Carbone are behind the project. Curro, originally from Milan, is a professional chef and AIS-certified sommelier who previously worked at the Grand York hotel, while Carbone's background is in art collection.

Curro said: "The Archive is an opportunity to experience an early taste of the Vices York. A chance to see the collection of wines that we've curated, and to shop in a safe and fun way."
