Cash stolen after hotel rooms targeted in theft
Cash was stolen from a hotel in Weymouth after eight hotel rooms were targeted in thefts on Wednesday.
The rooms targeted were at the Russell Hotel on the Esplanade.
Police said: "We received a report of a theft of cash from a hotel room between 4.55pm and 7.45pm on Wednesday 22 June 2022 at the Russell Hotel on The Esplanade in Weymouth.
"It was subsequently reported that further rooms had been broken into, believed to be around eight in total.
"Officers have attended to take details from the victims and enquiries into the matter are ongoing. No arrests have been made."
Daish's Holidays bought the Russell hotel out of administration in 2014. The 102-bedroom Russell hotel was previously owned by Hollybush Hotels, which traded as Martyn Leisure Breaks.
Daish's Holidays was founded in 1979 with the acquisition of its first hotel in Shanklin. As well as expanding its number of hotels, it went on to launch a coach division enabling it to provide package holidays across the south coast of England.
