The Caterer unveils largest ever research into operator sentiment

The Caterer has released the results of its largest ever analysis of the hospitality market, featuring the thoughts of more than 500 industry bosses.

Launched as part of a new suite of Insight reports available at thecaterer.com, The Caterer Hospitality Business Leaders Report, powered by CGA, surveyed more than 500 board-level executives from across the restaurant, hotel, foodservice and pub & bar sectors.

They were quizzed on their confidence in the market, how their business is performing, their priorities for the year ahead, trends they're experiencing and the biggest challenges and opportunities for their business.

The results form the largest and most comprehensive survey of the hospitality industry ever undertaken, feeding into a series of reports that provide a comprehensive picture of the current and future challenges and opportunities the market faces.

The Caterer editor Chris Gamm said: "The report highlights a bullish and resistant market in the face of evident pressures for operators. Indeed, optimism remains high, especially longer term, with vibrant shoots of confidence shown by those in the pub, bar and independent hotel sector.

"Further highlights include a focus on customer experience as the main driver for success, while leaders spoke in depth about the importance of staff, both in terms of retention and costs, but also as a fundamental element of success in any hospitality business."

Caterer Insight is available to Gold Club subscribers, costing £3.43 per week.
