Tender: Holburne Museum seeks caterer for its garden café
The Holburne Museum is seeking an innovative caterer for its garden café, commencing in June 2023
The Holburne Museum in Bath is one of the UK's best loved independent museums. Set within an impressive Grade One listed Georgian building, the new extension in 2011 has won many awards and the display of the museum's collection has received plaudits nationally. The museum stages major world-class exhibitions with attract annual audiences of circa 100,000 and national media coverage. Recent exhibitions have included Grayson Perry, Canaletto and David Hockney. The building has featured in many films and TV series and, most recently, has a starring role as Lady Danbury's house in Netflix's Bridgerton.
The contract for the provision of the Garden Café expires in June 2023. The café is located on the ground floor of the rear extension and has a large terrace at the back with outdoor seating. It enjoys close proximity to the historic Sydney Gardens which is popular with local residents, families, and tourists. The café is open 7 days a week, 10am – 5pm Mondays to Saturdays and 11am – 5pm on Sundays. Venue hire is an important stream of income for the museum and there will be the opportunity to cater for these events which includes weddings, parties and corporate hospitality.
The garden café is approximately 10.40 meters by 14.30 metres and can accommodate 55 covers. The outside terrace can accommodate an additional 50 covers. The kitchen, storage space and office are on the basement floor, with a dumb waiter connecting the kitchen to the café.
