Cumbria Police Authority: Provision of catering services

Strategic and Commercial Procurement, Cumbria County Council are acting as agents for Cumbria Police Authority and applications are invited from suitably experienced contractors wishing to beconsidered for inclusion on the Select List of Tenderers.
The service required for Cumbria Police Authority Headquarters will include catering for officers, civilians; emergency and special events. Proposals for vending provision in three police stations and a vending/snack service in the proposed new divisional headquarters in Carlisle will also be required.
The contract will commence on 1 April 2008 for a period of three years, with the option to extend up to one further year.
Tenders will be evaluated on the basis of price and quality. The Authority does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender and the basis for the award will be the most economically advantageous tender assessed in accordance with criteria set out in the tender documentation. It is considered that the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 and/or Directive 77/187/EEC will apply to this contract, as will the Code of Practice on Workforce matters in Local Authority Service Contracts contained within ODPM Circular 03/2003. Prospective tenderers are asked to seek their own legal advice on these matters.
Pre-tender Questionnaires/Application Forms for places on the Select List will be required to be completed and returned to the address below by Monday, 1 October 2007. Invitations to tender will be made in late October 2007.
