Team behind Hackney's Nest to open Fenn in Fulham
Luke Wasserman, Toby Neill and Johnnie Crowe, the team behind Nest restaurant in London's Hackney, are set to open a second seasonal British restaurant called Fenn on Wandsworth Bridge Road.
Inspired by Fulham's proximity to the Thames, Fenn takes its name from the old English word for ‘low-lying wetland'. The venue's 14-cover terrace will open initially on 13 April with the 30-cover dining room opening on 18 May, should restrictions allow.
Both à la carte and set menus will be available, overseen by executive head chef Crowe and head chef Joe Laker, formerly of Anglo, with dishes such as Lincolnshire Poacher cheese and truffle dumplings; hand-dived Scottish scallop with roast chicken butter; halibut, Cornish crab and sea herbs; and nutmeg custard tart.
Front of house will be overseen by Harry Cooper who, alongside Wasserman, has selected a range of sustainably produced wines and seasonal cocktails to complement the menu. The restaurant will also have a 16-cover private dining space in the downstairs wine cellar. The building previously housed Harlequin restaurant.
Neill said: "It has been a really tough and frustrating few months for us but we are thrilled that our opening is now within touching distance. We can't wait to start showcasing all that we've been working on and bring a taste of what we do at Nest to West London."
Crowe added: "We've worked so hard to create great relationships with farmers and local producers over the past four years and it's been so tough to see how they've struggled this last year. I can't wait for Fenn to open to be able to showcase what we, and they, do best."
